After having factory repos for KDE4.6, now we have stable repos for KDE4.6, so we can stay with the stable packages. The process of installing or upgrading is very simple, if you are using factory repos(disable/delete it), switching to stable is also easy. Nothing going to be lost in the process. It will just download and install the packages while changing to stable repos.
As we know, LibreOffice stable release is available for use. I guess, you still have OpenOffice installed and using it. Why not lets try LibreOffice. It’s quite easy to install, lets go through step by step.

After announcement from Ubuntu that they will include LibreOffice with the up coming Ubuntu release and so on… in the next few days, LibreOffice announced its 1st final stable release for the world. LibreOffice have many new features over OpenOffice.
January 7th, 2010. Today, KDE has released a series of updates to the Plasma Desktop and Netbook workspaces, the KDE Applications and the KDE Frameworks.
Last night i installed vanilla forum the latest version(2.0.16), but before that i got into trouble like ‘cannot install vanilla forum because the database host provided is wrong’ some thing like that type of error. Which was basically by .htaccess file. I finally installed it but after some time figuring out the mod_rewrite ghost. Actually it’s quite easy to enable it, there was one thing missing, which took some of my time to figure it out. Lets start how to enable the ghost.
Nothing new except some minor changes here and there.

Most of you may already read about the forking of OpenOffice.org into the Document Foundation and LibreOffice. As it’s still fresh and new in the market, so i guess not many many users are using it. A week ago i give it a try and was impressed. Not much new things over OpenOffice, but still things are quite new ATM.
KDE team announced the 4.5.3 release, which comes with bug fixes and translation updates.
Great news from openSUSE team, stable repositories for KDE4.5 are announced.
openSUSE have now Stable Repositories for KDE 4.5 . Previously if one were using Factory Repositories for KDE 4.5, can disable/delete all that repositories like main and extra.

1st day of September, 22nd of Ramadan and here we are with the 1st post for the month. KDE team proudly announced the new release of KDE4.5 (4.5.1). There are a lot of bugs fixes since 4.5.0 release. One can read the changelog for more details.
